Guardians Director Reveals Female Role Removed From Final Cut

Guardians Director Reveals Female Role Removed From Final Cut

- in Guardians of the Galaxy

It’s fairly common in the movie business that a lot of content will get cut from a film before it’s edited down to a final release version. Summer blockbuster smash Guardians of The Galaxy is no different, and director James Gunn recently revealed one character who had their larger role cut from the film.

Marama Corlett was to play a pit boss at the Orloni-F’saki table in the Boot of Jemiah. Keen observers will still spot Corlett in the film, but her full appearance was cut to maintain pacing throughout the rest of the film.
Gunn shared that Corlett had learned all of her lines in a foreign language created by the film makers, so he really felt for her losing screen time. However, that’s how things often go with large productions like Guardians, and there’s still a chance that we could see the pit boss making an appearance in the next Guardians film, or elsewhere in the Marvel cinematic universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy is still showing in theaters around the world, and just closed out Labor Weekend as the year’s biggest summer blockbuster.

Maybe we will see Corlett’s full appearance if there’s ever an extended directors cut released for the film?
