Jude Law admits that the veil of secrecy surrounding Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s Captain Marvel is even tighter than the one around his role in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

The Sherlock Holmes actor is playing a young Albus Dumbledore in David Yates’ Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and a mystery character in Captain Marvel. Boden and Fleck’s superhero origin story will be Law’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, and he’s making sure not to spoil any of the movie’s plot ahead of its 2019 release date.

Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Law explained the fundamental difference between the wizarding world of Harry Potter and the MCU. “I think it might be this British-American difference,” he confessed. “With Fantastic Beasts, they’re like, ‘We assume you’re not going to give away any of these secrets. And if you do, we’re going to tell you not to again and we may quietly kill you.’ In Marvel, it’s like, ‘Don’t you f****** ever tell anybody about this!'”

Colbert pushed Law on whether the rumors he is playing Mar-Vell are true, but Law refused to budge. He said, “I can’t tell you who I am, nice try,” before moving the conversation on. Reflecting on Captain Marvel‘s secrecy, Law explained how strict life on set was. “There was a guy hired, I promise you, on set. I would step out, they would say, ‘Mr. Law, we’re ready for you,'” he revealed. “And you would step out in your suit and they’d be like, ‘Put the clock on! Put the clock on! Hide! Put the hood on!'” He continued, “My children visited the set. They were running, going, ‘Sign the NDAs! Who are these guys?’ It was tight and scary.”

The MCU is known for its big twists, while stars like Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo have been famously loose-lipped with spoilers. Wanting to make a good impression, Law clearly isn’t let anything slip about who he’ll be playing and what his character’s true purpose is in Captain Marvel. As it stands, Law’s character is simply referred to as “the commander of Starforce” and “a mysterious mentor” to Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers.

Fans are expecting there’s more to the story because Boden and Fleck would’ve given his character a name by now. With Jude Law adhering to the MCU’s spoiler lockdown, audiences will have to wait until March 8, 2019 to find out what’s really going on with Captain Marvel.
